It was a dream of my parents to build a community where the elderly can be cared for as if they were family and though it has been nearly four decades since their vision is as strong as ever.
At a very young age, my parents taught me about the importance of taking care of seniors. After all, my parents were born into an Italian culture where supporting loved ones is the main priority. In retrospect, I learned so much from them, and today, it is reflected in my love for the residents of Arcadia Gardens. I love my job, and I am fortunate to spend my days working with an amazing staff to improve residents’ lives. Every day is a blessing, and I am especially grateful for the opportunity.
Seniors are special individuals, and their wisdom and insights are incredibly valuable. In fact, I believe we can all learn something from the stories they share. They gave us so much, and it has inspired us to give them something back. I suppose that’s why we make sure to celebrate often with them and offer entertainment and activities so that they may get a sense of our appreciation for them.
Even though December was a special time full of holiday food, festivities, and beautiful lights, we plan to keep the momentum going! We are preparing a colorful party for the Chinese New Year this month on Jan. 28. We also have a Valentine’s Day Party for all our seniors, so that they may feel the power of love. Additionally, we also have special trips planned for the Norton Simon Museum and the Nixon Library. Check out our calendar section on the website for a full list.
Ultimately, Arcadia Gardens is my second home, and it is an absolute honor to care for our residents and serve them with such a dedicated and friendly team.
Wishing you and yours a very happy 2017!
Sincerely,
Julie Chirikian, Owner
